Guy Ernest Debord

filozof-3/debord” 197″ 289″ Guy Ernest Debord (28 Aralık 1931 Paris – 30 Kasım 1994 Champot, Bellevue-la-Montagne, Haute-Loire) yılları arasında yaşamış Marksist filozof, yazar, sinemacı. II. Dünya Savaşı sonrasında Fransa’da kurulan Socialisme ou Barbarie (Sosyalizm ya da Barbarlık) isimli marksist grubun üyesi olmuştur. Debord ayrıca sanat ve sinema alanına yapmış olduğu radikal müdahaleleriyle ün kazanmıştır.

Yaşamı

1931’de Paris’te doğan Debord, babasını küçük yaşta kaybetti. Paris Üniversitesi’ndeki Hukuk eğitimini yarıda bırakarak sanat çalışmalarına ağırlık veren Debord bu dönem birçok şiir ve yazı yayınladı. 1960’larda kurduğu situasyonist enternasyonal’le 1968 ayaklanmasını etkiledi. Bu dönem sinema çalışmalarına ağırlık vererek Society of the Spectacle (1973) ve otobiyografik içerikli “In Girum Imus Nocte Et Consumimur Igni” (1978) filmlerini çekti.

Alkol bağımlılığı hayatında sürekli bir sorun olan Debord, ömrünün sonuna kadar bundan kurtulamadı. Debord, 30 Kasım 1994 tarihinde, kalbine ateşlediği silahla kendini öldürdü.

Gösteri Toplumu

En tanınmış eseri Gösteri Toplumu (La Société du spectacle-1967)fr adlı kuramsal kitaptır. Bu kitapta kapitalizmle şekillenen tüketim ilişkilerinin ülke ve ideoloji ayırt etmeksizin bir gösteri biçimi yarattığı ve bu durumun kaçınılmaz olarak dünyanın tek bir pazar oluşuyla sonuçlanacağı iddia edilmektedir. Tezini, Yoğun gösteri (liberal yönetimlerde) yaygın gösteri (Totaliter rejimlerde) olarak ikiye ayıran Debord, Yoğun gösterinin toplumun ufak bir kesimini, yaygın gösterinin ise toplumun büyük bölümünü etkisini altına alacağını ileri sürer.

Düşüncelerinde Karl Marx ve Georg Lukács’ın etkileri görülür.
